Andy if you will notice I said that’s just me. I would do it for the reason of eventually using all the pump had to offer and most people don’t have a lot of stock plates lying around. You can’t cut a #5 then make it a 100.

I wouldn’t suggest anything over pushing the stocker to FF if you wanted to keep the stock trans for awhile.

Also remember that tst rates them in the stock location

I found this out the hard way. I put a #6 in my truck with the stock auto, and it lasted about a week before it started slipping. :ouch:

And I put a #100 in my 180 hp 98 12V auto and I was disappointed with the power - since it was supposed to be the ultimate plate

I have a 5 plate if you want it, I removed the plate and learned how to tune an afc and found you do not need a fuel plate at all if you tune the afc right.:w2:

bowtech 08-06-2009 07:42 PM

how do you tune the afc? like the star wheel? i asked on a different post but no answer

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

if i put a 5 in the stock setting what would it be compared to the 12 slid all the way?

yeah i've talked to some people and a few of them have said there is no point in running a fuel plate as long as you don't get carried away and start really pushing it

bowtech 08-14-2009 05:38 PM

even if you have a stock tranni? idk about that

big willy 08-16-2009 02:10 AM

umm idk if i'd do it with a stock one the biggest problem is the torque converter because i've had 3 trannies in my truck and we finally put a bigger tourque converter in it and got the tranny juiced up a lil and i haven't had any problems since
