more about fuel plates.
i have a 12 plate in my truck now all the way foward. i have heard that a 5 plate is best in the 94 auto. whats between the 5 and 12 the ten? if i got a five plate and put it in the middle would there be a gain from the 12 slid all the way? my tranni is stock so i take it easy and dont hod rod around so i just want a lil bigger plate for some more power. better to have the power there and not use it then need it and not have it lol. any one have a extra 5 or some thin i dont want to try to guess and grind mine down.
i have a #4 and a stock that im not using id like to keep one though to grind into a 100
whats the diff between a 4 and 5? Yeah i have my stock or 12 plate i would trade if any one wanted to grind one down or some thin
so the 4 fuels harder in the middle?
just get a #100!!!!
he has a stock auto which we all know cant take what a 100 has to offer he just wants a touch more so that if he has to pull out hard he can with a little more ease
Then a 4 and a 5 might be too much. I would just cut a 100 and slide it back but thats just me.

Someday guys will understand that a 100 plate is NOT the end all-be all plate for every truck. It does not perform the same when installed in a 160-175hp P7100's as it does in a 215hp P7100.
Also... If I had a stock truck with a stock automatic like he has I would not run any plate over a 605tq plate.Any more and your asking to rattle the converter and cause failure of the transmission. All the extra power in the world does one no good when you can not apply it to the ground......Andy P.S.-BTW Bowtech....The old "I do not hotrod my ttruck" statement is one that everyone tries to pass off on us.However, most all of us all know that its a line of BS as soon as your lips start to move and before the comment is ever made. |
im sorry mr hammer let me rephrase i am not stompin on it at every light and not racing any thing and every thing on the road. so what plate would be good plate
Andy if you will notice I said that’s just me. I would do it for the reason of eventually using all the pump had to offer and most people don’t have a lot of stock plates lying around. You can’t cut a #5 then make it a 100.
I wouldn’t suggest anything over pushing the stocker to FF if you wanted to keep the stock trans for awhile. Also remember that tst rates them in the stock location |

I found this out the hard way. I put a #6 in my truck with the stock auto, and it lasted about a week before it started slipping. :ouch:
(Hammer knows what hes talking about). |
i guess after i get a tc and vb ill get the plate
I have a 5 plate if you want it, I removed the plate and learned how to tune an afc and found you do not need a fuel plate at all if you tune the afc right.:w2:
how do you tune the afc? like the star wheel? i asked on a different post but no answer
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- if i put a 5 in the stock setting what would it be compared to the 12 slid all the way? |
yeah i've talked to some people and a few of them have said there is no point in running a fuel plate as long as you don't get carried away and start really pushing it
even if you have a stock tranni? idk about that
umm idk if i'd do it with a stock one the biggest problem is the torque converter because i've had 3 trannies in my truck and we finally put a bigger tourque converter in it and got the tranny juiced up a lil and i haven't had any problems since
