Denny T Stage II Fuel Pin Review
 

Received my Denny T Pin today and had to toss it in the 89 RIGHT away. Let me just say before we get into the meat and potatoes that this thing ROCKS!!! there is ALOT more fuel at full boost and it seems that the truck is more responsive all through the power band. Anyway I figured I would do a quick write up while I was at it so as always hold on and here we go! Oh and if you want one here you go http://www.dennytperformance.com/

First I had to pull out the truck and unload it from the trailer since I never did last weekend. Seeing as how Steph has the 06 Cummins at work I had to use my 98 Chevy hunting truck... Think I got the tongue weight about right? :D

I'm short... Thats a fact... :D Just ask DM, Benjamin or any one else on here that knows me. So even at stock height I need a little help to be comfortable. Here is what I use. A Pro-Step. If anyone is interested in more details PM me and I can fill you in. This one has had a rough life outside but it still works great!

Well here is the pin... I'll put up a comparison shot up in a few.

The swap is REAL easy so I wont go into to much detail. Here is a list of tools you need;

• Socket Wrench
• 12mm Socket
• 10mm Socket
• 10mm Wrench
• Flat Head Screwdriver
• Maybe a Hammer

First, using your 12mm socket, remove the Banjo bolt on the rear of the AFC housing. Be careful of the two copper washers that seal it. If you lose one it wont seal and you will have a nasty boost leak.

Then take your flat head screwdriver and remove the four screws that hold the top on the AFC housing. If it has been a while and they are stuck a firm tap on the top of the screwdriver will loosen them up.

That black rubber piece is the diaphragm grab hold of it and lift. The pin is attached to the bottom. Grab you 10mm socket and wrench and up bolt it.

Here are the two pins side by side. You can see the difference. The pin works by allowing the fuel rack to move out farther allowing more fuel under boost. The stock pin on the left is rotated to its deepest setting.

Now just reverse everything making sure you install the new pin with the open face pointing toward the front the truck.

what happens when the stock fuel rack pin falls into the pump and locks the fuel pin........common problem on a pin with a very deep grove like the Denny T pin.......

Never heard of that and you cant pull out the pin w/o taking the pmp apart. I have cycled mine ALOT of time trying to free it up with NO pin in it and it has never fallen out. I even used a set of needle nose pliers to pull it out al lteh way because it was sticking trying to work it free an it hits a stop. Logan you are the only person tha has ever said anything about that... You have any more info?

Oh and as far as what would happen if for some crazy reason the rack pin fell into th housing... You would loose AFC control... Be like having a ground foot... Turn off the truck and fix it. It's not like the truck would run away... just smoke.... ALOT

I've got one coming too. Looking forward to getting some more fuel.
