Default Anyone made their own mud flaps or mounts?

Title pretty much says it all. Anybody made their own mounts for their mud flaps or made their own mud flaps? I am getting a truck soon and the one I want needs mud flaps because duallys need mud flaps by law here. I saw one guy make mud flaps with a piece of horse stall mat and hung them by chain on a dump truck

Is what you can do is take some horse mats cut em to fit the wheel well and old em in pllace with sheet metal screws, or steel siding self tapping screws.. or another idea take some angle iron weld a piece of flat steel weld on the angle iron and bolt em to the frame.. the only reason they use chains on dump trucks is the flaps don't rip off as easy
