Smokin' At The Kentucky Beach
Okay guys, I've convinced my boss to schedule a weekend of racing, and just general party fun here at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green. We currently host the TS Performance Outlaw drags annually, but want to expand our Diesel program. We are going to purchase in the near future a mobile dyno for event purposes as well as to enforce regs for a our circle drag and figure 8 programs. Additionally, he wants to build a purpose dedicated pulling track, and a mud race complete with a tree and timers, which will also augment our total program and not just the diesel genre. We prolly won't be able to pull all this off this year, as our season is nearing it's opener as it is, but by next season we hope to have it all off the ground.
A weekend at Beech Bend would go something like this....
A. Drag Racing....both quarter and eighth if need be
B. Truck Pulls
C. Dyno Testing
D. we'll be racing the circle track and figure 8's for those who like destruction on the asphalt. We are adding an open FWD american class...no rules...just FWD and american ( and the safety stuff of course) so bring an ol beater and run the 3/8 mile if you like!
And the Frosting....
Some of you may know already, but we also have a 500 slot full amenity RV park/tent and P/U truck campground on site, which usually turns into a party zone after the track night lights go out.
We also have a full Amusement park and water park featuring state of the art coasters, thrill rides, several water slides and the usual amusement theme rides. So now the family, or just the kids have something to do. Or if the Wife unit isn't into the truck scene, they can still get a vacation out of it!
Our goal is to turn this event into a weekend extravaganza with lots of smoke, music, mud, campfires and all around group fun that draws people from all over the country. Hence the reason for the poll above. He would like to see a demographic on how far people would come to attend the event with everything above available to do. SO give me an honest cross section of potential participation. When this goes off well, we propose to make it a national event with one of the sanctioning bodies attending and supporting. Thanks for your time.
