The NHRDA would like to take this opportunity to thank NADP for inviting us to be part of the 5th Annual August Blackout. Blackout proved to be one of the premier events of the 2008 season. With the hospitality and dedication of Barry, Roger, Dennis and the entire NADP staff, this event will only continue to grow in the coming years.

We would also like to thank the 168 competitors from all over North America that came out to support the event. It’s great to see the diesel community unite at one event and show the world how fast our sport is growing.

This should be a must for everyone to put on their calendar for 2009.

The NHRDA and NADP would also like to give special thanks to Doctor Performance, Chad Riley, Brad (Dirty Max), Malcolm Cross, Mike Drever, Shawn Inkster, and Gord Cooper (Smokin Guns) and the Anger Management team. They all put on one heck of an exhibition class, and the 5300 plus spectators agreed by cheering them on.

New Super Street Record:

Congratulations goes out to Kevin Morken for setting a new National Record in Super Street class in both ET and MPH. 10.97 @128.05 mph


Over 30 vendors offered their products and services in Vendor Alley, which gave both spectators and competitors alike a chance to interact with some of the biggest players in the diesel world. Attendance totaled 5,389 and competitors totaled 168 – the bar has been set.

Once again, the NHRDA would like to thank the spectators, competitors, sponsors, and NADP for making 2008 August Blackout a HUGE success. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for the 6th Annual August Blackout!

This was an excellent event. I am sure there are many people that work hard to make this happen - my hat is off to NADP. As well, it was good to see NHRDA make the trip.

And, yes, congrats to Kevin !! He finally got his truck to hook up and work like its supposed to.
