Default May day need your help...

Well fellas I really did it now ,I was pulling out my high pressure oil pump in my 2005 ford f-250 6.0 powerstroke & well I had the plate off and was taking out the 3 bolts star pattern and I was using a destination and socket to hold my star attachment you know the little Philips head or flat head attachments well this was a star and it fell inside my engine ): Lol yea I know right with the cam and gears and stuff well I jacked up the engine and loosened the motor mounts and took off the oil pan hoping that it fell in there but it did not, so I took off that plate to get a better look and I looked for so long that my eyes were blurry and I could not see anymore and I was using bright flash lights to see plus drop light so I could see just couldn't see what was important the dropped piece please help me fellas any suggestions for me??? F Hz a lot for reading and any nd all input on this...

A borescope might be helpful to locate it. Will the piece stick to a magnet?

Hate to say this, but since you already pull the pan, and nothing, then my next suggestions sucks but I'm sure you ll find it, Pull the TRANSMISSION off. Yeah this sucks. Because back of the engine is a gear cover that you can remove and access all the cam and crank gears and I'm sure you ll find it in there. But it's a do able job, but long
