I have several of these.

These are just the shells with not mechanisms in them. You have to take your old mechanism out and put in these.
I don't have a tailgate to do that with..you don't have that part do ya? I wasn't even aware you could install something in a tailgate..I thought they were sealed off.

What is it that I need exactly? Is it hard to install?

I'm looking at buying this one: TAILGATE ford F-350 80-86 85 84 83 82 81 1980 1986 1985:eBay Motors (item 230397973037 end time Dec-10-09 08:17:23 PST)

I think that one has everything and is ready for install..if I buy one off you what would be my price?

I wish I could, but the guy I got the truck from wrecked the tailgate completely with a gooseneck trailer.

(I know I have to get my own tailgate guts, but the guts are easier to find than that tailgate...)

For my truck, it should say: "DODGE RAM" in big letters and go across the whole tailgate. If it just says "DODGE" in big letters across the whole tailgate, that will work, even though it's for a slightly newer truck.

I know its a long shot but have been looking for a Mercury M100 tailgate for a long time now. I think it is a late 60's, cant remember off hand, I've had the project on hold for a while now.

Don't think I would have one of those. Not sure I have ever even seen a M100.

I am pretty sure I seen a couple like that... We had to put them all out in the storage shed becuase the shop got full of trucks. Soon as we get room we will bring them back in and I will see for sure.

That one on ebay is the same thing I have. A shell only that you have to put the guts in.

I do not have the guts but you can pick them up off ebay.

Price on mine would be $25.00 plus shipping.
