bought a 95 DT466 and am looking for some ideas for transmissions and rear axles, it'll just be a 2wd truck to rip around in, definitely don't want an auto, i have been tossing around the idea of a Spicer CM5552A but any other ideas would be appreciated

Best bet is to get in good with a truck wrecking yard. Then, you can sift through their axles and transmissions. Maybe they could help you with a good clutch combo too. There's a bunch of 5,6, & 7 speeds that will fit a 466's #2 bell.
Is this going in a pickup?

 

yeah going in a pickup but heavily modified chassis and body, and I'm going to run the truck around stock then pull the engine and do everything after i get a baseline, and yeah thats a good idea with the truck yard, i just wanted to see what anyone with a dt466 was running, trans and axle wise, even in a med duty truck

 

While you have it, make a #0 plate, add a 3k gsk, and some delivery valves.

 

is the engine serial number right on top the valve cover? I'm a cat mechanic and we have engine tags that are labeled serial number haha, does 1824888 C1 sound right? looking for a service manual for it
