Intercooler piping/tubes
I am down to the last couple things to finish on my 85 F350 cummins swap and one is plumbing the intercooler. My question is whats the reasons for using aluminum tubing for this??? Can I use steel tubing or is that a rust concern. I can weld steel all day long but never learned to weld aluminum. Thanks for your input...

I used most of the stock dodge aluminum tubes I did have to make 2 pieces I used the 3" stainless steel exhaust tubing i had made sure it was completely debured and cleaned it also needs to have a lip welded on so the boot will not come off you can buy 45 90 22.5 and couplings for turbo off ebay that is what I used

Deck60 Thanks for the input.. I ended up finding a guy to weld aluminum so went to summit racing and got a couple 3" mandrel bends and started cutting and fitting. Pass side was a straight shot from turbo to cooler. Drivers side took a little time. I drove it Sat and what an inprovement over the pig 351W and 4 speed tranny, a complete night and day difference in drivability and power..
