Default s-10 diesel swap

I am new to the fourms and fairly new to diesels but I have done some searching but with my work schedule and other projects it's hard to make time right now so dont bash me too bad if someone could help with some info and suggestons or point me in the right direction i'd greatly appericate it thanks..

I am looking to put a diesel in my 93 2wd single cab s-10. It's my DD im not to worried about emissions as i live in fl and it dosent seem to be a prob around my area so wanting it to be reliable and fairly decent on fuel it has the 2.8 with a 5 speed now but the motor is about to go so just biding time right now to save up a little more i would like to put a cummings in it im leaning towards the 3.3 4bt with a tremec 600 tranny thought about the 3.9 but size seems to be a prob unless i lift my truck which i dont really wanna do i wanna stay around stock height and i dont plan on pulling anything besides a small utility trailer with my mower or atv every now and then i have a 07 duramax for towing i mainly just want relaiblity and mpg but dont want to get run over trying to get on the road . also i plan on rebuilding/upgrading the rearend and was thinking about 3.73 gears??

The 3.3 was not near as good of a motor as the 3.9 but I guess if that's what you want

ya but i keep hearing that the 3.9 wont fit unless i lift my truck 3in or cut a hole in the hood to allow the motor to clear plus i've also read the you can put a intercooler on the 3.3 and it will be close to a n/a 3.9 i aint looking for a bunch of power just dont wanna get ran over i've got my dmax for power

If you want something simple just use the factory Isuzu 2.2 L diesel engine

they seem to be harder to come by and at only 50ish hp and i think 106 tq my gas 2.8 would be better i do light highway driving and dont want to take 10miles to get up to speed im trying to look more into the 3.3 cummings cuz i hear they can get high 20's to low 30's when setup properly and have decent power behind them and can find them alot easier

i would like the 3.9 as from what i hear its a better motor and more aftermarket parts n all but from what ive read is the fitment issue. i would like to hear from those that have done it to confirm it or not b/c that was my 1st choice

Me and several others are diving into a 2.2l Kubota going into a truck like youre saying. I wouldn't have gotten one until i seen a guy use nothing but these engines in everything he had, including trucks

Default 3.3

I actually used and seen one of these engines today it was on a hydraulic power-pack and was really impressed they look like about an 85 hp you could probably get 100 hp out of them

if I remember right I had a 82 datsun pickup and it had a 4cy non turbo diesel @ 45hp and it did fine
