anyone running a 4l80e behind there 12 valve
has anyone put a 4l80e behind a 12 valve pushing more then stock power and been successfull? even with a few modifications to the trans? i was going to use a nv4500 in my swap and still might but if i can for the same price i already have a 4l80e in my truck so i wouldnt have to find all the odds and ends to do a trans swap also. ive been searching but cant really find anyone that has but 4-500 hp or more to one.

The downside is you would have to buy an adapter plate to hook the Cummins up to it, but I don't know if anyone make one to bolt those two together. It seems like I remember reading an article where they swapped a Dmax into a car, and the Allison was too large so they used a 4l80e. If I remember right, the motor was making quite a bit of power too, but I don't know what they had done to the tranny.

i have found you can use an adapter off a 4bt out of a mid size vehicle like a box truck that came with a t400 or 4l80e transmission. there's also a company that sells them for about $1100. kind of pricey but i already have a 4l80e to do some trans work to and a deep mag-hytech transmission pan that was over $300 sitting around...
