any body ever seen a 4-71 in a pickup found one on a old pump got it running sounds good no blow by my buddy sed i bet that thing will fit in my truck he's got a 97 chevy 4 door dually we did a little measuring and decided he's going green if anybody has ever seen this or knows anything about a swap like this any info would be great oh almost forgot it's super and turbo charged

is it turbo and blown? my freind put one in his 78 ford f250 with a military 5 speed mated to divorced transfer. it is not supper fast. but sounds great just dont think you can talk to pasenger when driving.

yea it's super and turbo charged I think it should run ok it revs pretty quik the sticker says 230 horsepower at 2400 rpm it's governed at 2800 and don't blow any smoke i'll throw some fuel on it and jack up the boost it should pull good where also thinking about a 13 speed spicer tranny

I've seen quite a few 4-53's swapped into pickups and even a 6v53's, so I think a 4-71 would work just fine

An all iron 4-71 weighs in at around 2100 lbs dry and stands 33-36 inches tall depending on which oil pan and valve cover is used. The 53 series motors 3, 4 or 6 cylinder would probably be a better option due to their smaller size and they rev a few hundred RPM higher.

I got lucky enough to stumble on an aluminum one. It's a few pounds lighter.
