Default Project: Short Box Chevy

1981 3500 chassis cab 1 ton dump. Factory 292 I6 on propane with 3 speed + low gear manual trans.

Donor: 95 dodge cummins 12v nv4500

pics tomorrow when i pull the I6 from it's hole.

Can I ask how the 292 even moved that old chevy?

And that is the question i've been asking ever since the truck was bought. I know the original owner and he old bought it because it was the only one on the lot and he needed it that day.

That engine should have never been put in there.

The only way it moved the heavy chevy was the 4.88's in the back. Top speed was 55mph at 4K RPM. It was costing me 45 bucks a day to drive it in the slow lane.

3.73's are on they're way in. It should rev much lower with the newer 5 speed.
