The 2nd Gen filters were a real PITA. I would plumb in a filter head with a good-sized 2um element and run 3/8 line to the pump and then the filter. Install a post-filter gauge and be good to go. Something like this:

ya i know i need to use diesel, but i was trying to find out if the gas fuel pump thats in the tank would provide enough fuel to the p-pump. or would i need to get an inline pump as soon as i get the motor plumb thanks.and if i get a fass fuel system or airdog that would element ate the bad fuel filter housing. and what happens to the filter that your are talking about nadirpoint.

If I understand what you'er asking, they are hard to change. You have a 2nd Gen engine with the filter mounter mounted up under the intake plenum by the block, hard to reach.

I believe some of those systems come with their own filters, so yes, it would be relocated to wherever you mount it.

and that would get rid of the housing for the original fuel housing or it would just stay there
