i found a 83 chevy dually 4 door 2wd for 800 but the ball bearing broke and the A frame is bent, is it worth 800 or not and how hard would it be to make it 4wd and swap a 93 cummins motor in it? any input would help

what do you mean ball bearing? it would be easy to convert to 4wd if cutting off all the front suspension and fabricating your own front suspension for a solid axle swap is something you are comfortable with. if you can handle the 4wd conversion getting the engine in it shoud be easy.

 

i think the bearing in the axle went out and bent somthing. idk i need to call the guy and see

 

Mine is an 81 crew cab long bed 1 ton, I put the 4 wheel under it, with a 24v. I'd do it again in a heart beat.

 

Its easy to swap to a 4x4 you just need one for parts.Look around on 67-72chevytrucks.com there is a few trucks like that on there done.

 

Most likely a "ball joint" failed and bent an A-arm on front suspension

 

I don't thing there is anything difficult about making a 80's Chevy 4wd or swapping in a Cummins. It kind of depends on your ability's. If you have mechanical ability, can weld and fabricate then go for it.
