S-10 Kubota Diesel Conversion
It's 3/8, I built the first one out of 1/4 and it cracked near the spring loaded tensioner that I had on it. I believe it cracked because the tensioner beat the crap out of it not because the metal was too thin. I eventually had to change to a static tensioner. I built this one out of 3/8 just to add strength.
Ok. I was going to use 1/4 because I can have it punched out once I get it designed. I would be running a static tensioner, or even just a slide for the alternator. Still a ways off on that project though. Not even sure if its worth it on my truck. All I have is alt and an aftermarket a/c setup. Not sure if I am going to keep the a/c. Takes up alot if valuable space for intercooler and exhaust routing since its on the drivers side.
thank you for this thread. Very informative.
