Is the ford cummins exhaust manifold for 12 valves just an industrial manifold

Default Is the ford cummins exhaust manifold for 12 valves just an industrial manifold

Anyone know? Was gonna just flip the original one but intake housing is to close to exhaust manifold.

Do you mean the compressor housing touches the manifold? My PhatShaft62 compressor housing hit the flipped manifold, so I got longer studs and the flange spacer that Industrial Injection provides with a compound turbo setup (in order to run a big top turbo on a flipped manifold). Give them a call and ask for the spacer, or contact any other performance shop that deals turbos and turbo accessories,

I was curious about this myself.

I know FC says their manifold drops the turbo a few inches, and Ive seen 5.9's used in applications other than Dodges that had the manifold you spoke of, looked like it would accomplish the same purpose.

I called them and they said if you had like a bus or something you could use that, or buy one from them and its the same thing for 309 bucks, so went on ebay and got an industrial one for 100.

Huh when I switch to a bigger turbo I may have to try that. Or even from the looks of them, you might be able to use one off of a commonrail. On CR, they sit about a cylinder farther back, but I believe they drop straight down.

I got mine put on, I would take a pic of it and put it on here but not sure how. Oh search ebay cummins manifold and you should be able to find it.

On our engines the exhaust ports are rectangular shaped, on the cr's they have round shaped exhaust ports so it won't work. I was going to do the same thing until i found that out.

I had the same information from FordCummins.com when I began my project, so I bought the industrial manifold from Cummins. When I started fitting, it worked best to use the stock style manifold flipped with a spacer & longer studs (as mentioned earlier). In some cases you'll have enough space to do this, in others the industrial manifold is a much better fit for the turbo & the downpipe. I'll post the new one I have in the classifieds.

I bought a 12V out of a 98 F750 and it has the exhaust manifold sitting higher than where it sits in the Dodges. Can I buy an exhaust manifold off another 12V from a 1st gen and expect it to work?

I think I will also need to change the front timing cover, because the fan sits very high on the engine? Again would a front timing cover from a 1st or 2nd gen work?
