Return fuel from injectors

Return fuel from injectors
I have a question about the fuel return from the injectors on a P pumped 12V. I have installed a 12V in an 83 GMC 3/4 ton. I have put an air dog lift pump in the factory fuel tank, and have the fuel line run directly to the pump by passing the stock fuel filter. Would it work to run a return line from the injectors to the return on the factory Gm sending unit?
