Minor update: Found a donor chassis for the '47 cab, got a '90 F450 Superduty as a rolling chassis with cab and front clip. Going to start pulling it apart so that i can sell off the extra parts so that i can mock up the '47 cab onto it. Here's a few pics, and if you want any parts off it just ask, selling stuff for dirt cheep:

So i finally got some work done on the truck, got both cabs removed and the '47 cab got fitted onto newer frame. Had to do some cutting on the front clip to get it close, but it still needs a little more work to get everything to match. Here's some pictures of the progress:

good stance-same make chassis n tin,all good.always nice to have plenty of room to mount the engine and drive train.start from the radiator or intercooler and measure back from there.taking the viscous coupling fan drive assembly off the 6bta and going with electric fan[s] saves a lot of room.

Ya, there's plenty of room top to bottom, and i'm hoping there's enough room front to back without having to modify the firewall but i will if i have to.

Mounting a hydraulic dump flatbed off of an early ford truck tonight, got lucky with it and the frame rails are both the same width. Pictures to come.

Alright, got some more done since yesterday. Using an engine hoist and a motorcycle jack i managed to get the flatbed into the air far enough to roll the truck underneath it.

enjoyed the pictures of the body lift-reminds me of using all the motorcycle stuff and all the trolleys jacks i had to get stuff lifted-i looked for ages for cheap axle stands that would take5-10 tons-gave up and made some-way cheaper.
will you keep that body as is /really suits the cab.
