Default Wiring for a 94 - 97 F350 Cummins swap

I'm in the midst of converting a 96 F350 powerstroke to a 12v cummins. I know the cummins only takes a few wires to run. What have you guys done about the rest of the wiring in the truck. In a perfect world I'd be able to eliminate the ECM under the hood, but I think a few critical functions still run through it - cruise control for one. I have the drive by wire harness and the auto overdrive plug hanging under the dash. And will wind up with several unused wiring on the engine harness.

Will the lack of all the computer functions trip the check engine light?

I have to replace my loose dash bezel. I have another out of a gas truck. I'd like to mount my pyro and boost gauges in the upper right where the diesel specific idiot lights would go. Is there a good reason to keep the lights, and will they even still work when I'm done?

In my truck, I cut all the wires on the engine wiring harness and am only using 3 of the original wires right now. Two for the oil pressure and water temp senders/gauges, and another for a key on hot wire. I have the rest just kinda hangin there, but sealed off.

Default BeenThere Done That.

Ive Got a 99 F250 that I swapped, its not hard. I 2nd the two answers above. Locate a hot Key Wire... Like EFI Hot Wire, plug that into your Pump. As Far a Cruise...... It Can get a bit tricky. and you might want to consult Destroked, or my buddy Jason over at Fordcummins.com to figure out how to make it work.

Everthing else is simple. If Ya dont need it, JUNK it!! If Ya Need It... LEAVE IT!!

If you have any ?? Just ask. Ive done all of my swap the HARD WAY...

I am seriously considering putting a 93 cummins into my 97 F350 and I was just wondering if you had any advice concerning running the fuel tanks with electronic senders with the mechanical ve pumped cummins. Also, what did you do to make the existing ford gauges/tachometer work or did you replace them with analog gauges? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As far as the check engine light, might as well pull the bulb like I did cause it won't ever go out! (but it won't hurt anything!)
