Default Duramax In A 88-99 GM Truck

Has anyone on this site installed a Duramax engine into a older GM truck 88-99? I'd like to put one in a 95 K2500.

one of my friends has been wanting to do this and you have to do a lot to get everything to work and fit if u dont do a body lift then you have to cut the fire wall.

You would have to have a working doner vehicle all the stuff on these trucks "talk" to each other. Its been done in the past, but there isn't a how to out there that I know of.

Like DB said, the hardest part is getting all the computers to interface with the truck and "talk" to each other. Chevrolet's use the Class II databus so all the computers are linked together.

I read that the 95-99's work better. The gauges will interface from what I recall. There is a decent write up on the The Diesel Page.
