Got the truck home! Borrowed a buddy's 24,000 lb PJ trailer and collected my project, along with a 1946 Chevy school bus that was converted to a flat bed 40 years ago and a spare 46 cab.
The bus and cab are going to the guy who did the body work on my old Camaro (a few pics in my album) in exchange for his services on the 2-ton.
I even took the 2-ton on a quick road test before sticking it in my barn. 1st time on the road since approx 1985. My double-clutching needs a little work!
I also picked up the IH T-36 and all associated parts over the weekend. Pretty big critter. The pic shows it next to a 350 Chevy V-8.
I also had a graphic designer make a 12" x 16" vintage-style decal (cleaned up of course) that will go on the side of both doors.
This is gonna be fun!

Well, I tinkered with the old truck today. Got a wild hair up my butt and decided I'm gonna take it to a car show this weekend! I got the brake lines all pulled off, pulled the seat and fuel tank out and got all the crud out of the tank before re-installing it ans the seat. I got the headlights, brake light and driver's-side turn signal working, along with the oil pressure and volt guages. Tomorrow, I hope to get the brake lines on and working, preferably without twisting any of the bleeders off the wheel cylinders (they don't exactly sell 'em for 2-tons at auto-zone!), and try to make more sense of the wiring issues.
Gonna take it to the Bucyrus Graffiti Cruise this Saturday (the 11th). It's one of the largest cruise-in's in the state, regularly drawing 1000+ cars, 1975 and older. This is the 20th year for it and unfortunately, it is rumored to be it's LAST year.
I haven't been to it since 2003, when I still had the old Camaro and it was always a really good time. They block off main street for about 1/2 a mile, pump oldies music through the city's PA system and let us cruise up and down the road. Sure the '46 ain't no "show truck" but I don't care. It's old and it's cool so I'm gonna throw it on the trailer and haul it out there. If anyone is around north-central Ohio (Crawford County) Saturday afternoon and yer looking for something to do, swing by and check out the cruise. I doubt you'll be disappointed!

The car show went pretty well. Got a lot of comments and thumbs-up from the crowd. The old truck wanted to run hot while cruising around but that's no surprise. Figure the thermostat hasn't opened in 30 years!
The other day, I decided to use it as the centerpiece of my FIRST youtube video.
It's far from professional. Hell, it wasn't even shot with an actual video camera but I don't care.
Today, I'm gonna start working on pulling the bed off of it and getting it ready for the engine transplant and the trip to my buddy's for the body work.
