Wish I has seen this before I sold my 75 F250 Highboy. That truck was already built like a tank. Add the cummins to it. :tu:

What did you do about hooking up the kickdown to the throttle itself? Howd you hook it up.

any updates? Did you ever get around to doing an inter cooler or s300 turbo?
what radiator is that, and do you have any cooling issues?
truck looks great cant wait to see how far you go with it

Good luck in getting a response. Look how old my last post was, asking a question..I now wish I could delete it. Ive decided to use the 727 on the back of the diesel for mine. So my question is useless anyway now. :rolleyes2:

Bodie Lift

Did the bodie lift allow you to move the engine farther back? Did you modife the mounts from fordcummins

Not sure if American Thunder is still around, but thanks for the build thread. This is gong to be a big help when I put a 6bt in my '83 Bronco.
If anyone else has done this, do you guys have any problems with the torque flexing the frame to much?

MudDrivermike 08-18-2012 07:57 AM

When I get done mine, I will be putting up a thread of how and what I did to mine. Probably in a month I will be completely done with my conversion...:rocking:

Awesome. Look forward to seeing it. Wish I could get started on mine, but it's gonna be at least early next year. I guess I can start gathering parts in the mean time. And learning about diesel mechanics.

My 79 Bronco has the 351M yet, but it's looking like a diesel conversion is where it's going too. This was a nice thread!

Hey, no S300 turbo yet. I used the stock radiator, with the spouts relocated by a local radiator guy. I never got around to building a fan shroud for it, and zero cooling issues, even with the small Bronco radiator. Diesels tend to run cooler than gas motors.

Hey, sorry about that, I had some rough times, so I wasn't messing with the Bronco much. If I could go back, I might use the 727 with an adaptor between the trans and the NP205. That's probably a cheaper option.

Yes, the indentation in the firewall is just the right height for the rear of the Cummins motor to fit into, with the 3" body lift in place. It actually looks like the truck was made for the Cummins, the way it fits together. I didn't need to modify the mounts at all, I just fabricated those frame plates that the mounts bolt to.
