Default California Smog for Conversions

Are there any issues with smog if you do the Cummins in a Ford F350 99 and later?

If you find anything you know as much as I do. Your supposed to have the original power-plant configuration from the factory. All communications to the ECM/PCM is supposed to work for that truck. This is a grey area because they actually use Gas smog laws in-conjunction with diesel smog laws.

it would suck to spend all that time and money to find out you are running illegal.....total bs if you can't but want to know prior to spending the cash.

If you live in California. I would say not to spend the cash on it. Your better off buying the truck with the power-plant that you like. Just stay away from the hassle. They have a stupid agenda that will not address this issue for light duty diesel trucks.

Kinda what I was thinking.....what a freaking joke these politicians and smog pukes are. Do you realize that California buys its "green power" from Canada but that by doing that, many Canadians have to use coal burning power because we suck up all the "green power".....joke

I want my conversion!

There's q guy in Sacramento with a 01 and a CR. It's his 2nd swap, DMV won't be much help. They'll tell you everythings illegal, talk to a smog tech.

I just installed a 88 7.3 with a Banks turbo and ZF 5 speed in my 79 f250 supercab 4x4 and went to the DMV to transfer and register the truck and was told I had to go to the referee ,,, went there and was not only told I had to have a carb stamp for the banks kit but also told that I will probably not be givin a cert for this because it is illegal to put a 7.3 in a vehicle with a gvwr lighter than 8501 lbs!!!
