Default 89 Suburban 4x4 2500 CTD

Hello all. Been lurking among different forums and finally gathered the courage to do the swap. I started Friday June 18 and drove the family to a campsite 150 miles away on Saturday June 26. I still have some things to tweak but overall came out good. This website has really helped. Engine is 91' non intercooled. Trans is 95' 47RH. Transfercase is 90' NP205. Thanks for all the info. Brian

CTD setup and final resting position. Last pic is first start. A little priming and she popped right off!

Final assembly and end results of where everything ended up. Love the new drive shaft. I think it's made of gold! The shop thought so as well. I've still got to make some mounts for the trans cooler lines and wrap up some wiring.

Driveable but not finished. Still need to do some wiring touchup. I'm waiting on 4" exhaust tubing to drop it out the back. I'm also having problems with od and tc lockup as in it's not working. I just ordered new solenoids and i'll install them this week. So far it drives and sounds great!

Update. I replaced the OD/TC solenoids. That made a huge difference! I've got them on a switch for now but intend to install the pressure switches. I topped the fuel last Saturday and we did a lot of city and a little highway. We were running 70 mph one way and 74 mph on the way back. I've got 410 gearing and 35" tires with the pump turned up a little and averaged 16 mpg. I also fabbed up some new shift linkage. I tried using the stock Chevy stuff and it didn't turn out so well. Something I didn't realize is that the shift pattern is from back to front on a 47rh. I hope to get after the exhaust soon. Question: How many are running straight pipes? Do you like them over mufflers. I need to get the Burb inspected here in Tx at end of July and was wondering if I can get away with straight pipes or should I put a muffler back in it. Thanks
