ISB 4bt into 04 F-150
I am in the process of gathering all the parts to install a ISB 3.9 into a 04 f-150.
I have a couple of questions about it even though I have done this to my 97 f-150 but that was a VE-pump. and a lot less wires
I was wondering a couple things.
1. Is there a wiring harness that would just plug into my factory truck for my gauges to work correctly?
2. The motor is an 01 and is that a common rail or VP-44 style pump on there?
3. Is there a way to use a programmer to increase the maximum RPM's above 2600 and to increase power?
4. Does anyone make an adapter plate for an Allison1000 transmission to the stock ford transfer case?
Those are the main questions I have any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Let me answer all of your questions....
1. NO
2. Either a P7100 for a 4BT (3.9L) or common rail ISB 4.5 is all cummins makes, the 4.5 is electronic.....
3. Niether will have any type of programmer available
4. Not that I'm aware of.....

I was finally able to talk to smarty and a programmer should be possible it will be a one off for the time being but if there is a demand they would make more.
Now it is just finding the motor/tranny combo I want for the price I want. I found 2 but they are a little expensive

I also am doing an isb 3.9 conversion. Mine is a 2001 common rail rear drive engine, I'm mating it to an Allison 6 speed. Between Howards, Arens and Allison, I believe I have most of the parts. You said smarty could do a programer for you, who did you talk to? When I talked them (just now) I got told a flat no.

Well as for the legality issue I can not comment.....(Kinda a don't ask don't tell thing)
The intercooler is actually not from a truck at all it used to be a oil/intercooler from a Genisis series tractor but the oil cooler on the bottom leaked and we cut it off. Why do you ask?

Bout time somebody start messing with the ISB 4 cylinder. I have been waiting for this thread! It is the same as the six cylinder brother. you can mate an allison to it not a problem you can use the same stuff they make for the sixcylinder, and it has a stand alone control module. as far as the ford transfer case. Hmmm....
Leav it to the boys in the Great lakes to do amazing things commpared to us in emission controlled States! Keep us posted on the progress your quite unique. I might add post more PICS! !!!! please ..
