Here is a never ending project!! I have already done an SAS conversion on this truck with a 4-link front suspension and 14" coilovers, and 41" Iroks. Now I am lowering it a bit on 38's and installing a 97' 12V, NV4500, and NP241DHD. Here are a few pics.
Oh here are a few of my sponsors that have helped me out tremendously with this conversion!!! Thanks guys! Nitto- 38" Mud Grappler's AEM- Intake Zoom Performance- Stage II VT performance clutch, flywheel, and hydraulics Looking for a good set of injectors! Also Installed the TST KDP Kit, Fuel Plate 5" Full Spectrum Exhaust Ford Dana 60 front High Pinion and Sterling 10.5 rear axle. Still have a lot to do before installing the Cummins... Sorry guys,
Here is an update. Finally got the moter in for a test fit. Now it is back out for the new seals and gaskets. Attachment 47326 Attachment 47327 Attachment 47328 Attachment 47329 Attachment 47330 Attachment 47331 ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Well as I was replacing seals and gasket, looks like I was too late to install the KDP kit!! But the damage was minimal the aluminum gear cover is cracked and will need to be taken off and welded, minor set back. but installed my Zoom VT stage II clutch kit today. It looks like it is going to grip! I will have the motor and tranny mated tomorrow, and if I get the cover back on in time I will have the motor back in the truck for good. Then we can get the motor mounts mocked up. Attachment 47332 Attachment 47333 http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...k/IMG_2722.jpg Attachment 47334 |

|
effin awesome... i have a frontier and would like to do the same, ill probably need a 4bt or a ud motor though
|
Thanks guys,
I had to get the timing cover back on replace all the seals and gaskets before I put it back in. I will have it back in the truck for good on a few days, and I will update with some pics. |
Nice lookin truck. Although that clutch doesn't look like it will hold much more than stock power, not a lot there.
|
people are running like 1250 ft. lb. torque with the stage two kit i have with no slipping. I don't think they recommend that much, but it is considerably more than stock!
|
thats a pretty cool project for sure. good luck passing smog though with the new diesel smog laws coming into play here soon.
but regardless its definitely cool and 1 of a kind |

what do you plan on doing for a fan? doesnt look like any room there. you might want to reconsider plumbing the radiator to the bed

I got lucky, radiator, condensor, and intercooler all fit behind the grill. What are you guys doing for a universal clutch petal assembly?
as for a clutch pedal, i used from from the body style of my chevy but i dont think they made the titans with a manual trans option. any clutch pedal should work, you may just have to fab up some brackets to mount it at |

Here are a few updated pics.
We got the gauges in, 5" exhaust, and motor finally bolted in. It just about made me cry to take a plasma cutter to the floorboard to do the cutouts for the shifter boots. The guys over at Zoom performance hooked me up with new hydraulics for the new clutch as well, so that will be installed when I convert the new clutch petal. I wanted it to move with the other pedals when I hit the button so I picked up a 2nd Nissan Titan Brake petal to convert. Also the entire floorboard, firewall, and rear wall will get a Dynamat Extreme, and Dynaliner treatment to keep the road noise and heat out! Attachment 47068 Attachment 47069 Attachment 47070 |
lookin good

You guys are lucky in Fla. It wouldn't pass inspection here in NY, not legally anyways. oops did I say that out loud Awesome project

Cool project. Looking forward to seeing it finished and running. :pca1:

cool project.
however that clutch is not going to hold, i dont care what people "claim" there is physically not enough surface there to hold any power. but good luck with it anyway. |
