Progress has come to a halt health reasons and funds or lack of hopefully this week I should be able to make some headway on it and all the other crap going on in my shop . I would really like to make my own harness but will run the factory one first to make sure no other mistakes with the conversion .

Well some progress the line of crap to do before this gets done is down to one little project . So hopefully will start this back on track in a couple weeks . Going to sell the dually rear end from the cab and chassis flat bed and cab with what is left of work truck interior . Probably sell both tanks as well . Going to gut the Elky interior out to cut trans tunnel and see if there will be enough room for the allison . Will also try and graft the 06 instrument cluster to the elkys dash if not then will make a new one .

Fox did you keep your vacuum brake set up or did you go with a hydra boost setup ?
I am planning to go with the hydra boost . Will also try and graft the HVAC from the 06 to the elky but if it proves to big and bulky will have to go aftermarket since I don't plan on having a vacuum pump. I am concern about brake proportioning since I to will be running rear drums till budget can afford a brake conversion.

I kept the vacuum jar on there. I do want to go to hydroboost, but the Vac-can has proved to be a simple and cheap setup that works for the time being.... So until I can get other things out of the way, i'm not going to convert to hydroboost just yet. Plus I dont like the idea of having 4 more damn hydraulic lines in the engine bay... I tried to keep all my wires hidden and engine bay crystal clean.

I'm not sure what kind of vacuum pump the duramax has on it, but I suggest you try to keep it if possible....

(however I used a cummins. ;] )

I saw your post with your cummins build . As for as i know I don't believe any of the 6.6 Duramaxs never came with a vacuum pump.

At times I regret not going the route you did with the Cummins . But wanted to go the route least taken . But your Elky has given me the motavation to get back to work on mine.
