Default Dirtymax Fox Mustang

I have a 92 mustang that is getting a bit tired 211,111 miles and i was looking int building a 331 stroked engine to run nitrous and start taking it to the track to run with my brother trying to keep it faster than his 88 rx7 we crammed a 95 ford 302 into w/ a t-5..........then i haad an idea i ran across the thread about the 94 w/ the 6.6 built by nitrous express.... now my gears are turning. I have yet to find a fox w/ a duramax in it so i am seriously considering this option.
i do have a few questions now that i am looking and getting conflicting info on the motor i have heard the d-max is 760lbs and i remember the last one we picked up for a 4x4 project seemed like it was much heavier, that thing was a beast but it had the allison and transfer case connected but i cant seem to find any info on the size ans weight of the d-max and the comparison to the 4-6BT cummins which also sounds to be an option. any info or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Duramax is 860 lbs, Cummins is about 1000lbs, Powerstroke depending on year is around 920lbs or something too. I'm sure there'll be more feedback on this though. Weights tend to vary and it depends on what accessories are included, but as a ballpark figure I think (hope) I'm right.

that sounds about right. thered probably be a few headaches along the way of making that happen, but youd have a totally one of a kind monster on your hands

i don't think you would be doing any wheel stands at the track with it, it would take one heavy front end to hold that down. i think it would be more cost effective and easier to stroke it out and bottle feed it. but i don't know much about going fast, i like it nice and slow and powerful, my 2 cents

Why not a 6.0 Powerstroke? If done right, they can be pretty hot too... Just sayin.

Or maybe a Ford 5.0 Lion motor... You'd likely have to import one, but it would keep the 5.0 accuracy and be one wicked unique setup...maybe even turn the heads of the folks at SVT......doubtful, but it would be sweet!

Yea easy/cost effective is starting to sound overrated i am swaying towards originality and 33+mpg + being fast as **** at the track. then again I am starting to get a reputation for doing things that i have been told "Can't be done" or "I'll believe it when I see it" "even yo must be "

yea the 6.0 sounds like a better option staying with the ford parts would be nice but how much power can be made for a reasonable price and on the stock rotating assembly. I like the thought of the 6.6 taking 7-800 hp on the stock block
