Hello , Everyone Im new here.. Well i have a 99 dodge ram 24 vavle with 105,000 miles, it died on me the other night and wont start it turns over and acts like it wants fire up but just wont.. uhm the lift pump u can still hear it kick on i even put my hand on it to see if i can feel the motor runnin it was .. i cracked open a injector line from the head and turn it over its getting fuel to there but dunno if its enough. I had a buddie come with a scanner it flashed a P1688 code not sure whats going on its got me lost... Can anyone help me out or maybe point something out i might of looked over or not checked yet before i go replacing a injection pump & lift pump ???

1688 is a code for the injection pump internal failure of the electronics. more than likely it needs an injection pump. you should also check the lift pump flow to make sure it will supply enough fuel.
