Sweet truck dude! I like the bumper too. What did you run for gears in it?

It's got 4.10's. With the low first in the Getrag and the height of the 38"s it does fairly well and maintains about the same rpm at highway speed as the stock tires and 3.54's did originally. I haven't figured if I like the setup quite yet. I'd like some better mileage and considered putting the 3.54's back in, but I'm afraid it might make pulling a trailer a drag, so to say.

Cool. So were the 3.54s out of the Dodge and Ford axles? I have 3.5x in both the Ford 10.25 and the Dodge Dana 60 in mine, but I am not 100% positive if they are exactly the same or not. Or how far they could be off before they cause problems.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. The Dodge axles had 3.54's, and the original Sterling 10.25 that was in the F-250 was also 3.54...so I could have made life simple and just kept my original rear and tossed in the Dodge front and be good...which I would have done with 35's had I not stumbled upon the 38's. So, I sourced a 10.25 that had 4.10 limited slip and pulled a set of 4.10 gears from a rear Dana 60...which should work in the Dodge Dana 61 as far as I know...I have yet to put them in though, therefore I'm still sans front driveshaft.

I don't know for sure, but I think 3.50 and 3.54 mismatched would work okay, but it would be tough pulling it out of 4-wheel drive once engaged and gear-bound...

It's all good. I did some research, and the Fords actually come with 3.55 in the rear and 3.54 in the front out of the factory, and thats what I ended up with. Did your Dodge donor have 3.54s? Cause if it did I believe it is a Dana 60 and not a 61, I'm pretty sure all of the 61's had 3.07s, thats why they made the 61 was to fit the 3.07s if I remember right. I know the ratio options for the 61 are limited too. And I asked a buddy of mine, and he told me as far as he knows as long as both the rear and front axles are either LP or HP they will fit. I'm sure that info is on pirate4x4 though, if you wanted to be sure.

Yup, the Fords were like that for a long time...I think they are same ratio now though. Supposedly they bumped up the front ration ever so slightly to make it a little faster to aid in steering when in four wheel drive.

Yes, Dana 60 rear gears will fit in a low pinion Dana 60-61 front. Mine is in fact a 61...casting says it right on the side, and it has the "tall" carrier to allow for 3.54-4.10 to be run with the offset pinion. The 3.07 axles had the oddball "short" carrier for the massive 3.07 pinion gear. But, I think I have it all straightened out, got a Yukon installation kit and a good set of 4.10 Dana 60 rear gears, so when I get the truck back to OK with me, I plan on installing the 4.10's and getting a custom shaft made...then the fun begins!
