Shifting the t-case into neutral is just like shifting any other tranny into neutral - it disengages the input shaft from the output shaft completely.

John. does your jeep have two levers? I know that some had two and some with only one like mine which works the same as the blazer (I got the shifter with the trans). With this set-up the vac switch is on the t-case, I think the 2 lever jeep just has the vac switch operated by the lever on the console. Just a matter of figuring out the vac lines.About the steering box, I didn't get as far as I had planed (story of my life!) cause I got called in to work but will get pics up as soon as I get it all finished.

The Blazer Tcase has one lever that does it all. The vac switch on the Blazer Tcase does not actually control shifting. It is normally hooked to a solenoid that actuates a pin in the front diff. I don't think the Jeep uses the front diff pin, so I should be able to use my high/low/neutral lever to control all functions. I won't need the vac at all, which makes things much simpler.

Some of the Jeeps with the NP207 transfer case, and even some of the later ones with the NP231 still had the vacuum switch to engage/disengage the passenger side axle...

Drive shaft
I bought front and rear drive shafts out of a early 90's Blazer. The front one fit perfect, right length, correct U-joints. The rear one is a little too long and has the wrong U-joint that connects to the rear diff. I am going to see if a driveshaft shop can put the slip yoke from the Blazer shaft on the front of the Jeep shaft. That would work, but the Jeep shaft has the slip yoke in the middle of the shaft, so I would probably have to secure it from moving somehow. I know a reputable driveshaft shop, i'll give them a call and see what they think.
