sick truck man! i just dropped a turbo 617 in my mazda, kept the mazda 5spd trans. if your happy with an auto you mise well stick with the stock benz auto and just swap it all in as one, the only thing with the benz tranny is final gear is 1:1 no overdrive. engine mounts are really easy, 2 flat pads. just be carefull of the front sump on the engine, they tend to interfere with the steering drag link.

I am using the stock trans and got a drive shaft adapter to convert to a dana yoke. it is coming along slow but good. I have all the stuff figured out for electrical and fouhd a few sites foe some mercedes diesel tuning for more hp. I need a egt gauge where did you get yours?

i got mine off ebay. i think it was around 20 bucks? make sure to get a boost gauge too. there is quite a few tuning things to do for free to the stock IP, adjusting the torque capsule, removing the rack limiter and ALDA, turning up the boost abit

i still need to adjust the torque capsule on mine, plus setup the propane too
