Will a gas transmission/torque converter work behind a diesel? We are going to take the 4.3 gas engine out of a 94 chevy truck and replace it with a 4 cyl cummins. We were thinking about just using an adapter plate to fit the stock trans to the engine, but I seem to remember someone telling me that gas and diesel trans are different. Any one have any experience with this?

 

Wrong tourqe converter for sure! The 4bt won't have enough rpm to make it function correctly.

 

Some 4bt's had chevy transmissions behind them. Try to find on of those out of a delivery truck.
