Im sure its been done.

Not sure on the H1 or actual Humvee but its been done with the H2's. Should have had a Cummins from the factory.

there's a video on youtube of one with a 4bt. I'd put the money in the 6.5 though.

BioHMMWV is his username. his rig has a P-pumped 24V. he has done a few things out of the ordinary that would amaze ya. one thing is his overdrive. a NP-205 turned backwards to act as an OD.

daniel put a lot of thought into building this and also the f350 dually crew he built for his dad.

c'mon and get on here and show off with some pics daniel.

I too have gotten to see this awesome rig! He really has put some great ideas into building this thing!

Now if I could just get him to come over and help me put my Cummins into my Int'l!! . . (Hint, hint!)

I'm a navigator/trail mechanic for a friend of mine who has a former military Humvee with a 6BT/47re in it. It was a 6.2L pile of garbage when he got it. Unfortunately, at the time he started the project, the 2nd gen 24v was the "latest and greatest" and he chose to use that over the P-pumped 12v; he's had A LOT of wiring issues with both engine and trans electronics and of course, VP44 injection pump issues. The trans is now a mechanical valve body from Goerend, no longer electronically controlled and it's flawless.

It took several years of incompetent shops dropping the ball building it and doing poor work before he got it up and running. I don't recommend a 6BT for the Humvee/H1, with minor mods it's too much power for the CVs/hubs and you have to be very careful with your driving. But it does fit with enough clearancing and somehow he found the space to install a 5" exhaust, which is completely unnecessary but it sounds wicked! I wish I could've done the work on it but I was involved in a terrible car accident a few months before he picked the project up, I wasn't able to go back to work for a couple years.

I highly recommend either a 12v or a 3rd gen CR engine if a 6BT is deemed necessary. I think a pumped up 4BT would be more than enough power, way more power than a 6.2L and probably better than the 6.5L.

To make a 6BT fit properly, the Humvee/H1's really need a slight body lift. That's one of the things they had to do to the H1 Alpha with the Duramax/Allison...the Alpha model H1 is also an additional $90k dollars
