great pics. i can see why you want diesel.first of you will need vacuum for trans control and fuel shutoff (more or less) as you said you can always use manual kill switch but it is not that hard to figure out.on my jeep i used vac/psi electric valve and plumbed it to kill switch in the back of pump and works great. for electrical you will need good batery charge because you will need it for glow plugsthese engines have hard time starting with one or two glow plugs out,so you will have to wire it. i will have to look on my jeep but i had 2 wires on jeep and converted to 3 wires.1 thin wire is used for gage in cab and other 2 go to and from starter solenoid ( i will look in to it and post more). for the fuel lines you are right on money. driveshaft rubber piece is for shock when trans shifts and if you find one on junk yard i would get it and have your driveline shop make you one out of two and that way you can use that rubber piece.the vacuume switches on throttle is trans shifter control but my engine had electric ones. for coolant flow pump you dont have to use it but still i would conect heater hosses to make loop.only diference you will notice without pump is that if you leave your car on idle it wont push enough coolant thru heater core and your heat will be weak ( i dont have that pump on my jeep right now but am planning to put one on as we have cold days 7 months out of year)i hope this info helps you some and good luck with the build.i wish i was closer to you i itch for projects like this

wow yes thanks, i have four wires on one side of the tranny and one wire on the other. i have no idea what they do. starter main and s wire, easy. im going to have to make a vac can, easy. i just dont know what the vac line on the tranny does. someone said the tranny has a elec servo that controls firmness not sure yet how to control it. and how does the pump react to vac I.E. full fuel with or with out vac? i dont know. its like in the 90s here most days now but will be 100 or more in the sun in the summer. i dont think i will need the plugs much. i have done a 383 swap to toyota. but i have to say this is easier and it will be much more fun. as for the heater im going to take the heater box off the fire wall to make room for another batt. keep in mind i have been driving this truck for seven years as my daily driver. 37 miles one way to work. four wheel manual drums and no power steering. no radio. old seats. you have to have up to date titnaus shots just to ride in it. none of this bothers me. i have had alot of toys and some semi trucks. something like 30 cars and trucks but i still drive this old jeep. i love it. people call me the mail man . i just want to put something in that will last another 20 years.

i couldnt tell you for tranny lines as my trans was all electric and i didnt use it.as for fuel pump mine doesnt have any vac lines to it but has alda switch from back of intake to top of pump and that switch is used to control overfuel in case of overboost as i have turbo model but not sure if they use it on non turbo's.even tho you guys have hot summer days you will not need much of glow plugs but i would still use them as this engine if not perfect compression will be hard to start even when hot out. but that is something you can add when project up and running.

yeh im sure i will and it isnt the hard part. i think i found a post on some site that had something i could use. full vac = soft sloppy shifts, less vac = hard power shifts... plug the line . im going the use a acc dash control from a semi (for air diff lockers) to kill it. this way it would be hard to steal. i will mark it "HORN" i just need to know how the electro shift thing works. as far as i can tell the cars had some switch under the fuel peddle that made the three speed act like a four speed. i wish i didnt run out of time. i can even see the thing for a whole week. sucks!

yea you are talking about kick down switch and i am not sure how that works as i dont have that in mine but i think you will be best off to get book and figure it out that way as these trans are nor computer controled so it shouldnt be that hard or if somebody else can help you here that would be even better diff locker switch would work great but dont forget to make breather too as you wont be able to start engine after you shut it off.once it creates vacuum it is not going to loose it for a while been there done that
