I'm looking to put an OM617 in my solid axle-swapped 89 S10. Anyone made any progress on these builds?

hi has anyone sorted out what to do about the tie rod and track bar clearance issues in the xj. I don't want to go with more than a 2" lift, so I am looking for a drop pitman arm and maybe a drop mount for the frame side of the trackbar. I have the engine in, the mounts are finished and the exhaust is almost done. but I am definitely having trouble with the tie rod and the track bar.

i'm considering doing the OM617 in a 96 cherokee, I was wondering about the reliability of the engine over the 4.0L HO. and can it be turned up at all to at least match to 4liter's factory power rating?
