Default 1989 ranger V2203DI

I have an 89 ranger with a V2203DI. I’m looking for some insight. My factory fuel gauge is stuck on half key on or off. My coolant temp sensor and oil pressure gauge don’t work, tach doesn’t work either. I need to redo the mounting bracket for power steering pump and alternator. And add a tensioner to it somewhere. I’m also looking for the best turbo setup as it has a k04 now. Where is the fuel rack screw located. Where can I purchase a stiffer spring for the governed arm. And where is it located inside the pump? What exhaust manifold should I use? Sorry for so many questions. Just looking for some help to make this swap rock solid and everything work like factory. I can post pictures of my particular engine if that helps. My injection pump looks slightly different then most I find online?

I got a stiffer spring for mine from the hardware store. Just took the stock one with me and got one that was the same but thicker wire diameter. To get to it you have to take off the flange with the throttle lever (below the intake opening) and the engine stop lever plate (side of the injection pump), both are four bolts.

if your engine is from a carrier you most likely won’t have to touch the rack screw as they put out more fuel than the bobcat engines and more than you’ll need.

there aren’t very many exhaust manifold options, I’ve been trying to find one that points downward for a long time but they don’t exist beyond making a custom one. What you can use depends on your space available in the engine bay.

most people I see swapping these engines use the k03 turbo (what I have) which is a little smaller than the k04
