Ok I am new to this forum thing but here we go. First of all I'm not interested in opinions on makes or models being the best out there, I've some worked on many they all have there pros and cons. I have a wrecked 2009 F250 Beast of a stroke and I'm tired of looking at it sitting out there just being sad so a co-worker spoke up and said he had a 1984 chevy c10 I could get off him for cheap (no engine or trans but everything else there). I am entertaining the thought of putting that stroke in the C10 and would like some pointers, ideas, hidden issues and just all around brainstorming discussion to help make up my mind. Again I'm not looking for go with cummins or find an old ford truck the big pieces are already here so I'm looking for help with my task at hand.

 

Spend some time with a tape measure.

The Powerstrokes are really wide for the old Chevy frames. Also firewall clearance... not sure exactly how the turbo and exhaust are situated.

A buddy of mine is putting a 6BT in a '73 C10. Thats already turning into some firewall reconstruction.
