Hi guys! I will apologize in advance for any mistakes I make while creating this thread. Usually I just read forums, but this time I'm asking for advice.
Recently I paid off my 03 Ram 2500. It's got the 5.7 hemi in it, but it's the heavy duty package designed for the 5.9 Cummins. Special order from factory, I presume. I have an old single axle dump truck with a dt466 in it matched up to a 7 speed tranny of unknown brand. It's a work truck. The frame snapped on this truck, making it useless as a DOT approved dump truck. My Frankenstein mind has convinced myself to mate the dt466/7sp unit with the truck.
This is a very large idea for me, but not one incapable of doing. The motor and tranny are complete, along with any fuel/electrical systems I may need. I've searched for miles upon miles for advice or info on someone who's done this swap, but only found Ford guys doing it in 70s-80s style trucks. I'm searching for advice on what do you guys think I will have to fabricate, or change, and prepare myself for in order to do this swap? (F.y.i, the hemi is pushing 300k, it's a little tired haha) thank you everyone in advanced for any info!
