I pulled a 01 24 valve out and put a 99 24 valve in. It runs but no power and smokes when accelerating. The Rach will work for a few seconds after starting. I get a code for a bad can sensor. I've replaced the sensor twice. I've had the engine wife harness out and went completely over it. And I've had the ecm rebuilt. I noticed the new engine has both crank and cam sensors. The old only had a cam sensor. Im using the original harness and ecm from the truck. Does this new engine have to have the crank sensor to run right? I'm thinking maybe the timing teeth are different between engines on the can gear.
