Has anyone ever swapped a cummins in a 07 chevy duramax? My duramax is getting weak and always been partial to cummins but was wondering if it could be done?

 

I've seen it done but couldn't tell you what all is required. I'm interested in this as well.

 

All depends on what yr motor your going to use,
If you are going with a 3rd gen motor you will need
to have donor truck to swap all electronics.

 

I wouldn't bother unless it was to get rid of the electronics. Buy a 89-98 Dodge/Cummins parts truck and get busy with your tape measure.

 

Something some people don't consider up front. Is will this be legal in the state they have their vehicle registered.

If you live in one of the nanny states environazis control. Good luck getting it through inspection if the engine isn't the same year or newer than the truck.

If you don't....then more power to you.

 

I have an 03 z71 I want to put a 1st Gen cummins I need to know what you need exactly to have it working right an driving Exdrive shafts,electronics,a/c,instrument panel,fuel lines,hoses,etc.) Is there things I won't even have to buy that I already got on my truck. If anyone could help thanks for taking the time.
