I have a 1984 c10 2wd long bed i plan on doing a lot of work to i'm wanting to do a p pumped 12 valve and 47rh swap in. I'm wondering if id be better off swapping to a 1 ton frame and will all of my body panels line up? I plan on putting quiet a bit of power through this so should i just box my frame or will it still not be strong enough? And what do i do about mounts? Transmission mounts not a problem but engine mounts are.

 

Are going to tow and use it like a truck? Or just a DD/hotrod thing?

I have a C30 frame in my shop right now... and a K5 frame chunk to steal 4wd brackets front. The C30 rails appear to be 1/4" and the K5 rails are half that.
