Welding went pretty good, especially since its been a while since I have been on a Tig.
It is stout, .074 sheet metal with a 1/4 flange. Has some weight to it.

It stayed pretty flat, needed some tweaking but I probably didn't hold it down to the weld table well enough.

OK. putting an order into Rockauto today for some parts for the truck.

going to pick up motor mounts while i am at it.

someone posted these on wither this site of 4bt swaps.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ani-2993

they are a hydraulic mount similar to the 4bt cummins bread truck mounts.

and they are like 18 bucks thru rockauto.

Now what is the best way to mount these. verticle or should I splay them out at like 30*. I think them being angled would be better to help torque over and vibration.
Any suggestions would be great.

Trying to get a motor in my corolla before i can rip the current gasser out of my truck to start the swap.

Thanks
Ken

I think the hyd mounts are designed to used straight up, on an angle they may bind up and not work properly.

Default vertical

They were mounted vertical in the bread trucks.

I have been following Rangmars new conversion and have been researching variable geometry turbos and I think i may have found one that would work with our little kubotas

It is from a 2.2L Mercedes Sprinters, vv14

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Benz-2-2L-Sprinter-II-VV14-Turbo-Charger-211CDI-311CDI-511CDI-OM-646-/180790987057?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a17fb8931&vxp=mtr
I know the link is to CXRAcing but this is essentially the turbo. Once I get things finally rolling I may try to find one and experiment. Looks to have a boost pot to varying the exhaust.

I will try to find used but if I can't the cxracing may be my best bet.

what do you all think? I haven't found any specs other then engine size and hp rating from 110-150HP

Thanks
Ken

Update....the stars are aligning!!! The 1.8l gasser and trans in the Courier has been SOLD. Also will finally be picking up the 6sp next weekend. This will come with flywheel ,clutch, drive shaft and stock pedal assembly.

I plan to use the flywheel so I will have to get it neutral balanced.

I painted up my sbc flywheel adapter last week. Hoping to get my motor off my run stand and onl
onto an engine stand today so I can finally pull the stock carrier pan. Things are finally rolling nicely.
