Mercedes om603 diesel into Chevy c2500
Hi
I just finished this project, having come across this site during my research I thought I'd share it with you.
I'm pleased to say the truck runs great with the new diesel engine, getting about 30 mpg, not very powerfull but it can keep up with everyday traffic,it will cruise easily at motorway speed where its very smooth and quite.
Its an om603 engine from a 1990 w124 Mercedes into a 1988 Chevy c2500 which had a 5.7 v8.
All the work was done outside, weather permitting.
I live in Ireland where fuel is a lot more expensive than the USA so diesel economy makes a lot more sense.
Here is a link to the build thread

Any questions, just ask?

Kewl... : )
I'm lookin' for a'58/'59 Chevy/GMC Panel Truck to install a 3.0 5-cyl I currently have as a "Driver" in an '83 300 SD...
And it'd go-nice into a mid-60's thru late 70's short-body Cargo Van...I liker them in particular 'cause they have no windows, and I'm also a Musician (haulin' My gear 'n occasionally sleepin' over-the-nite too ; )
Do let us know what kind of fuel economy and (hopefully satisfactory) Power you're experiencing...we're kinda hatin' the cost of "petrol" here just as-well You You are : ?
Ciao!
