1997 f250 nv4500 tranny mounting questions
Hi everyone. I am currently putting a 12v cummins and a nv4500 in my 1997 f250 that used to have a 7.3 powerstroke and a e40d transmission. Right now I am working on putting in the nv4500. I was wondering if there was anyone out there that has done this and could tell me and/or post some pics on how they got the tranny high enough without hitting the bottom of the truck and how they mounted it. Thank you.
No pic but how I did mine was nv4500 dodge mount 1/2 plate steel and grade 8 bolts and washers. Drill two holes in the plate steel to bolt to the tranny then mount your nv4500 mount to x member (drill it out to your needs) then see where the holes line up plate steel to nv mount then take it out drill the plate steel. Proceed to drink a beer. Then put it back together and with the gap you get from the bolt heads (plate to nv mount) compensate this with washers. Hard to explain but still simple.
