I got a 2003 f350 with the 6.0 it runs normal, starts normal, lots of normal power, got lots of black smoke! Too much!!! It will not clean out, im hope it might be a egr valve, does the egr valve have an o-ring where i can pull it apart and inspect it

I got smoke at idle, lots!!! A few weeks back the thing wouldn't make any power pulling a trailean so i stoped and taped what i think is the egr valve and it was fine after that

 

The EGR valve is right next to the intake elbow, it has 2 8mm bolts holding it in place, remove the 2 bolts and pry the valve up but try not to damage it, be careful. You will be supprised how nasty it is going to be so try to get all that junk out of the hole and use a shopvac to suck it out the best you can. there are 2 orange Orings on the valve, try not to damage them or they will have to be replaced. use carb clean not brakeclean to clean the valve.

My EGR valve did that, sounds like its stuck. Try cleaning it or possibly replacing it
