Default Fuel Problems

I have a 1986 f250 6.9L diesel.
Whenever I am running my truck it will only run for about 15 mins.

I have replaced the fuel pump on the engine block.
Whenever my truck quits running, I can take the filter off fill it with fuel then it will crank and run for awhile.
Before, it quit running completely, everytime I started it I had to spray ether starter fluid into the intake.

Whenever I take the filter off completely and have my son turn the engine over diesel comes pouring out from where the filter screws on.

My son has disconnected the fuel line from the switch between the two tanks and had hooked the line direct from the tank and still it made no difference.
HELP!

Try replacing fuel filter, and it's not good to use ether on a dies motor if you didn't know

I did put a new filter on and it did nothing. Still had the same problem.
