Default what to buy

Hello there,
I have purchased a 1993 chev dually 4x4. The 6.5 was out of the truck when I bought it. I have been looking for an upgraded 6.5. I live in B.C. Canada. I have been getting mixed messages on the net. I found a new long block in Spokane. The block is a #506 and the heads are #10137567. They say it is newer upgraded block. Some say it is crap, others don't. How do you know? I just want to be sure I am getting one better than the original 6.5. If any one can steer me in the right direction it will be much appreciated.

i would say put a cummins in it. more of a headache but at least you know the engine will never die and it can produce alot better power. i looked into the 6.5s before i bought
my dodge. drove one and it was a dog and most of the info i found on them people were only getting a max of 230,000 miles. info on the cummins people averaging 4 to 5 hundred thousand miles easy. also i dont believe there was a big aftermarket venue for that engine.
